Private Bongo is posted to Chasehounds
Here we have Bongo, a black Labrador with some military background. He’s retired now as Bongo is 11 years old, but in his youth he was an Army sniffer dog, trained to detect explosives.
Bongo came to me at short notice, and I was only to happy to help out his owner, as they needed to go abroad at short notice.
Myself & Bongo had a lovely time together, he is so handsome, and I can only imagine that when on active duty, with his great size, and silky black coat, he looked impressive, and did this dangerous job efficiently, and with speed.
So off we went on operations over Cannock Chase, sniffing out squirrels instead of explosives. He is still fit and active at 11, he appearance is first class as he is groomed fortnightly.
Bongo had a lovely temperament, he was gentle, friendly, and kind. I had other dogs staying with me when he came, they were a lot smaller than him, but he was considerate when moving around them. I hope I have the honour of serving him again.
Nom! Nom! Bongo loves his food, I hid sausages in this bowl, or should I say bangers considering the fantastic job he did saving lives in the British Army.
